Yes, we recommend it. There is a lot to explore in and around Cerritos Beach and Todos Santos. There are amazing beaches, art galleries, great restaurants and more. Your trip will be more enjoyable if you take advantage of being mobile. There are US rental car companies at the airport, but you will get better rates if you plan ahead.

There is a small premium bus that runs several times a day from the airport to downtown Todos Santos, operated by EcoBaja Tours. Cost is $355 pesos each way, or around $17 US. The bus drops riders off in downtown Todos Santos, where a taxi can be hired from the taxi stand across the street from the bus station for the short 5-mile journey to The Hacienda Cerritos
Yes, they are safe. With the new toll road open as well as, a 4 lane highway that is similar to the US, it has both increased the safety of the roads and shortened the trip between the airport to Cerritos. (Toll booth only accepts cash at this time fee is about $7us or 125 pesos.)
With the new toll road the drive from the airport to The Hacienda Cerritos is only 45 minutes
Yes, just down the steps on the beach is The Cerritos Beach Club, as well as one of our favorite restaurants Free Souls, trust us you will go back more than once The Hacienda Hotel has a Palapa bar on site. You can also drive into town El Pescadero which is 5 minutes away and Todos Santos is 10 minutes away. Both towns have fabulous restaurants! Definitely try Carlitos restaurant in Pescadero, Hierbabuena , and Baja Beans . In Todos Santos, try Café Santa Fe, Miguels, Tequila Sunrise, and the Hotel California. Our favorite breakfast spot is The Café Todos Santos.
Right between the Hacienda Hotel and the Cerritos Surf Colony is THE Cerritos Beach Club. The Beach Club is right on the sand and serves excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner, it open from 7am to 8pm. There is live music on Sundays all day, it usually features international jazz singer Deleane Jones. At Cerritos Beach you can also find 2 surf shops, surf lessons, board rentals, surf contests and celebrities such as Rob Lowe, Keith Jardine, Adam Sandler, Tommy Lee, Sammy Hagar, among other, who make Beach Club a fun place to spend the day.
Yes, there are 2 surf shops at Cerritos beach that rent surf boards for only 20 US dollars a day, as well as some surf wear. Also, there are surf instructors that give private and group lessons. Just let us know and we’ll help get you scheduled.
Not much, however you can find live music on the weekends at the Hotel California or the SandBar. Other than that, it is pretty quiet up here on the coast. Outstanding crazy night life it is of course down the road in Cabo (35 minute drive from us).
Cerritos Beach is the only safe swimming and surfing beach on the Pacific for hundreds of miles. However, like the ocean anywhere, please use caution!
What you see in the news, is concentrated in Mainland Mexico. Baja is definitely very safe! Todos Santos does not have the problems that some other vacation destinations have experienced and is a safe place to visit. That being said, as with all travel, we encourage guests to be smart.
Everywhere accepts US dollars and almost everywhere accepts credit cards however, we do recommend getting some pesos, just in case.

Cerritos has a few small grocery stores right along the road to The Hacienda. There is also a pharmacy, café that serves lattes and two different fabulous pizzerias that even deliver. There are wonderful organic vegetable stands about 5-10 minutes north in Pescadero and Todos Santos.
Unfortunately, we no longer have a kitchen available for our guests to use to cook full meals but we do have mini fridges in each room for any left overs or snacks a guest may have.

No, there are no TV’s to distract you from fully enjoying Mexico.
Each suite at the Hacienda has a king size bed and sleeps two people comfortably. Limited extra bedding and cribs are available upon request.
Yes, traveling from almost any country to Mexico requires a Passport.
Most guests will arrive by way of the San Jose Del Cabo Airport (SJD).
La Paz International airport (LAP) is another option but it doesn’t have as many flights.

Hacienda Cerritos has a wonderful pool and is just above the beach. There are also surf lessons, boogie boards, horseback riding, ATV and dune buggies which offer a variety of things to do and see nearby. From exploring the Hacienda and Cerritos to visiting the nearby towns, your kids are sure to enjoy their stay!

Todos Santos is known for its art galleries, world class cuisine, its historic mission and regional museum, as well as many boutiques and bookstores. Beyond Todos Santos, everything else is just down the road in Cabo where there is a great nightlife, fishing, golf, fine dining, snorkeling, and shopping malls. You can even find organic grocery stores (with items for diet restrictions), as well as Starbucks, Costco and Walmart.
Just pack for the perfect summer day. Sunscreen, bathing suit, sunglasses, a hat, a pair of sandals and a pair of shoes, shorts and t-shirts, casual summer dresses, a camera, a good book and maybe your laptop or tablet. For the cooler evenings, a sweater is a good idea too!
